Cobra Starship - As the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets

By: Andrew

When people hear the name COBRA STARSHIP, the first thing that comes to mind is that "Bring It" Video we first saw for the movie "Snakes on a Plane". But Cobra Starship was not created for this movie. It first started back in 2005 when the lead singer Gabe Saporta was just a soloist. His first work "Hollaback Boy", was a very clever parody of the Famous Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl", which captured the eyes and ears of many. Now, the band consists of 5 members.

Their very first album, "While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets", was released from Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen Records October 10, 2006. Their Hit Single "Send My Love to the Dancefloor, I'll See You in Hell (Hey Mister DJ)" is my personal favorite to this day. It gives a great example of what this band Sounds like. Techno, Dance, Indie, and maybe even Grindcore, can all describe the Mysterious sound of Cobra Starship.

Recommendations:
"The Church of Hot Addiction" -This is an AMAZING song. Its perfect for getting you up and Dancing! This song is also the theme for the Pay-paer-view WWE series.

"Its Warmer in the Basement" - If you've ever loved someone so much, that you just want to lock them away in your basement forever, then this song is PERFECT for you.

"The Ballad of Big Poppa and Diamond Girl" - I love this song because its very Unique. Half the song is in English, and the other in Spanish. It also features solos from Key-Tar Player Vikki-T.
