Relient K - Five Score and Seven Years Ago

By: Tori Grace

As you may know I have already written a review or Relient K, but I can't get enough of them. They really are an amazing band. Every time they come out with a new CD, you can tell how much effort they put into these songs. Relient K is on the rise as a band. They are getting more singles out and onto both MTV and the radio. All of their CDs are amazing and have a wide variety of songs. What I also like is that some of there songs are long which is different. This CD especially has a wide range of songs. Some are lively, happy and upbeat while others are slow, sad, and deep. They are a band you can relate to more than most. You should most definitely check them out.

My personal favorite song is Faking My Own Sucide or Devastation And Reform (I couldn't decide). Faking My Own shows a more different and personal side of Relient K. It talks about how this person would fake their own sucide to get the attention of someone who doesn't realize how much they love them. It has a very wierd country beat though. Devastation and Reform is a more alternative song. It has it's slow and rocky parts and has a nice backround beat which is very light, but very cool. It talks about how this world is of all devastation then reform.

If I could recommend three songs from this CD it would have to be I Need You, Devastating and Reform, and Bite my Tongue. I Need You is very rocky for Relient K and it has a very lively upbeat. Devastation and Reform, for the same reason is one of my favorites. Bite My tongue has the old Relient K thing with more rock. It says sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shout. So go check them and this awesome CD out.
