Armor For Sleep
By: ximeng
Unlike most bands who have made it big, Armor For Sleep still stays close to their fans. Ben Jorgensen, the lead singer, has been known to message fans back on his personal myspace and will not freak out when your best friends chase him through the mall he normally goes to begging for an autograph. To date, Armor For Sleep has two albums out "Dream To Make Believe," which tells stories about dreaming, sleepwalking and how to keep the things you want as long as you stay asleep; and "What To Do When You are Dead," which follows a suicide and how the victim comes to accept his fate. A third album was set to release this January but due to complications the release date has been pushed back. The band has been in California putting the final touches on it while preparing for their tour this year with Taking Back Sunday and Underoath.
Recommendations:
"Car Underwater" - The first track off of "Dream To Make Believe" it starts off the album's story. This song is probably one of the most popular AFS songs and one that pretty much anyone can get into; even if you don't like this genre.
"Remember To Feel Real" - You might have heard a remix of this song on the Snakes On A Plane Soundtrack, but then again I don't think anyone would bother to buy the soundtrack since maybe like two people saw the movie. But don't judge this song simply because it's on the Snakes On A Plane Soundtrack; it's actually one of my favorite AFS songs and its probably one that everyone can relate to.
"Basement Ghost Singing" - I love this song, especially the tempo. The song's extremely sad, almost tragic, but don't let that keep you from listening to it. In a way, it's beautiful as it helps draw the album to a close. For some reason; i love falling asleep to this song.
