The band Black Lab was started by Paul Durham and they released their debut album, Your Body Above Me, in 1998. It was said to be "one of the year's breakout records" by Billboard. The album was awarded with the top 10 rock and alternative single "Wash it Away," and the top 40 pop single "Time Ago." Their second album See the Sun (2005) was greatly anticipated after their first successful album. Songs like "See the Sun", "Perfect Girl", and "Dream in Color" all capture the upbeat alternative feel of the album. This band, although not well known are definetaly something to watch out for! Already you can hear their songs in sountracks from Can't Hardly Wait, Varsity Blues, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Spiderman.
Recommendations:
"Time Ago" - It's upbeat and it has a really original sound to it; and starts off the album perfectly.
"Perfect Girl" - I love the way they sound on this song, the chorus is the best part of the song.
"Dream In Color" - On this song they sound like a completely different group. This song is more peaceful and it contains the best lyrics.
