Blake Lewis is an American Idol first. The first beatboxer to take over the American Idol finale, and though he did not win, his future is almost written in stone. The 25 year old beat-boxing singer from Bothell, Washington was the runner-up on the sixth season of American Idol. His originality and ever-present talent allowed him to get through his Seattle audition in front of some rather intense judges. Throughout the season he sang hits such as: Roxanne by The Police, This Love by Maroon 5, and the song that made him an instant sensation You Give Love A Bad Name originally recorded by Bon Jovi. Blake's ability to transfer a 1986 rock song to a present day hit made him a household name. Now that the season is over, it should be interesting to see where this star in the making will go.

Recommendations:
You Give Love A Bad Name - This is probably the most outstanding American Idol performance ever. It has an interesting beginning with the self-produced sounds of putting on a record –possibly a throwback to the Bon Jovi version- and a powerful chorus.

This Love - Blake's "blue-eyed soul" tone in his voice does this song justice, making most people want to break out their Maroon 5 CDs.

I Need To Know - When Latin week came around on American Idol, Blake's potential was questioned but when he performed he proved everyone wrong. His version of Marc Anthony's 1999 hit turned out surprisingly well.
