Brand New

[official website] - [official myspace]

By: Malcom.

Jesse and the crew from Brand New have come back from bit of a hiatus, and are better than ever! Between the lack of news from them to their cryptic website, fans have been fearing the worst, that Brand New could have broke up. However with the recent release of their CD "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me", we can tell that Brand New has taken some time to write and perform some amazing songs.

Many people would be quick to label the band "Emo", but after a few listens you can quickly tell that they have adapted an extremely different edge and sound, and their style is completely accessable by every type of listener. For sure, this album can appeal to a wider audience than just their fans. This is definitely a Must Buy for the year.

Recommendations:
"Sowing Season (Yeah)" - This is the one signle from the album that has recieved the most attention from mainstream audiences. Even though the songs starts off with a slow chain of beats, Brand New picks up with the wide and powerful hooks they are used to formulating.

"Jesus Christ" - The song "Jesus Christ" is by far my favorite song from this album; with great instrumentals and strong and reinforced lyrics, you would have to be "insane" to not tap into the heavy beats.

"Archers" - The reason I love this song, is the reasoni I love Brand New. Brand New has the great ability to to switch from mellow and down-beat songs, to a very up-beat and fast paced song.
