Bright Eyes

The brainchild of the lovely and talented Conor Oberst, Bright Eyes is one of the most notable indie groups around today. No one's really sure how Oberst, who's signed to the independent record label that he helped found, Saddle Creek Records, made it big; but it probably has something to do with his astonishing lyrics, boy next door charm, and striking voice that just demands to be listened to. Out of all the modern day lyricists today, Conor Oberst will always stand out as my favorite. The boy's got a way with words and writes about things that everyone can relate to. Unlike most big name musicians, Conor Oberst doesn't come off as the sex idol / untouchable god that most artists are now portrayed as. Instead, to his loyal fans, Conor Oberst is the best friend they never had but always wanted. The understanding boy who always knows just what to say. When it all comes down to it, no amount of rambling on my part will ever be able to do his music justice. Go out and see him on tour this year and pick up his most recent cd Cassadaga; trust me, it's well worth it.

Recommendations:
Lover I Don't Have To Love - Loyal Bright Eyes fans, feel free to disregard my next few sentences. For people who have never listened to Bright Eyes (for shame!) go download this right now (legally of course!). It's probably one of his more popular songs and if im not mistaken; can also be found on the S6 music playlist.

Four Winds - You can find this song on both Cassadaga and the Four Winds EP. The song is considered to be "quietly enchanting" and possesses the same story-telling seductiveness that can be found through all of Conor Oberst's work.

Nothing Gets Crossed Out - It's quaint yet powerful and seems to describe my life perfectly. Everybody has their own favorite Bright Eyes song; this one just happens to be mine, well what's yours?
