Daphne Loves Derby

Daphne Loves Derby is a three year old indie band straight out of Kent, Washington. They're probably one of the rare bands out there who owe the majority of their success to the internet. The band got their vocalist/guitarist, Kenny Choi, over the internet after bassist Jason Call, instant messaged him and asked him to join the band; and that was when the band members were only in high school and junior high. Since then, they've put out two CD's (Daphne Loves Derby and On The Strength of All Convinced) with another on the way. They picked up the majority of their fan base through purevolume.com where they were the number one unsigned artist for quite awhile. The band was recently signed by Outlook Records who'll be releasing their new CD "Good Night, Witness Light" this march.

Recommendations:
"Sundays" - The first track off of "On The Strength of All Convinced" the beginning is somewhat slow but it quickly moves into an upbeat and thought provoking song. As with all the other Daphne Loves Derby songs, the lyrics are amazing. The song writers could have been poets. This song will probably remind everyone of a person they knew.

"Debussie" - Quite possibly my favorite Daphne Loves Derby song. Extremely mellow and poignant, this song is remarkable. The lyrics speak for themselves, revolving around how people never want to miss a single moment in life and how they're always searching for something amazing.

"What We Have Been Waiting For" - A song for all of those who are currently fed up with school and are desperately longing for summer (pretty much everyone). The tempo's extremely catchy and the lyrics are amazing. One of the easiest Daphne Loves Derby songs to get into.
