Jem

Songstress, Jem, is truly one of my favorite female solo artists. Her unique sound combines the elements of electronica, pop, and alternative. With an album that floats along like a summer breeze, Jem has captured the ears of listeners everywhere with her smooth voice and catchy songs. Being featured in television and movie soundtracks doesn't hurt either. Her music has been everywhere from motion pictures, "Monster in Law," and "Ultraviolet" to ABC's hit show, "Grey's Anatomy." Her debut album, "Finally Woken" was released in 2004, and is still quite popular today. You might not see her all over MTV, but she's definitely an artist I'm sure you'll love.
Recommendations:
"Just A Ride" - This song is pure fun and has a really easy-going vibe. The message reminds us all that we just need to relax every now and then, and just "enjoy the ride." A perfect song for me personally, since I get pretty caught up in my day-to-day routine way too often. "Save Me" - Of all the songs named "Save Me," this one is my favorite. Shinedown has a great song named "Save Me," and so does Unwritten Law, but neither stands up to the breezy track from Jem. The chorus is simple yet captivating, and is one of her strongest songs. "They" - There's no song that sounds quite like this one. There's a lot of different styles in it and they all mesh together wonderfully to create one of Jem's most successful songs to date. "24" - This one reminds me of cathedrals for some reason. Don't ask me why. It's another one of my favorites by Jem, and one you might recognize. It was featured in promos for the motion picture, "Ultraviolet." I never did get around to seeing that movie, but the fact they used a Jem song is reason enough for me to rent it.
