John Mayer
By: Hailey
John Mayer produces music like candy, it all has the same underlying base, but it's all different in it's own way. His voice has carried him through a brief stint at Berklee College of Music and different music styles: acoustic on his first album, but a bit more versatile on his second. His efforts earned him some Grammys: In 2003 Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Your Body Is A Wonderland," in 2005, another Best Male Pop Vocal Performance award and Song of the Year for "Daughters," and in 2007, a third Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Waiting on the World to Change," as well as Best Pop Vocal Album for "Continuum." Mayer's success has put him out there, and even though Sanjaya Malakar performed the song on American Idol, "Waiting on the World to Change" has really opened people's eyes as to how we need to work now. I find his (John Mayer's, not Sanjaya's) voice to be smooth and relaxing and I suggest everyone at least tries to listen to his music. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Waiting on the World to Change -T his song, like I said before, shows us that we can't stand around and wait, that we need to make a difference. Mayer's voice really stands out in this track, and the video is amazing. See it here. Gravity - Another hit from "Continuum," this track is a like a cheer up on a bad day. "Just keep me where the light is" he says, making you want to stand up and be all "You can't put me down!" Yes. Good Song. Daughters - I love this song, it's just so calming. It has a sweet message, basically take care of your daughters. I love the rhythm, and it has a I-feel-happy feeling oozing out. I love it! Also, don't forget these other songs! "Your Body Is A Wonderland," "No Such Things," and "Why Georgia."
