Lily Allen
[official website] - [official myspace]
By: S6 Staff - lz.
The little myspace star that could. Her label sat on her debuts and what did she do? She uploaeds her songs and insights onto her myspace. She quickly became a hit there, and her single "Smile" hit number one in the U.K. Her album "Alright, Still" also peaked at number two. She's another myspace success story and the future is looking very bright for her.
Recommendations:
"Smile" - Beneath the happy sounding title, is actually a pretty sadistic song about the joys of an ex-relationship. Allen sings "at first when i see you cry, it makes me smile, yeah, it makes me smile." What better way to tell your ex you can't stand them anymore?
"Everythings Just Wonderful" - The song is cheerful and bouncy, but looks beneath that and you'll see that the lyrics are outspoken and really express her opinions on what's going on in the world. It's a cool song, I've never heard a song quite like it, so be sure to check this out.
"Knock Em Out" - I don't know about you, but this song is simply fun to listen to. Lily Allen sings so uniquely and this song showcases it nicely.
