Turntablist Mark Ronson has got a sound more diverse than just about anything you'll hear on the radio. He's been musically inclined his entire life and just recently took on a serious go at a music career. By working with such artists from The White Stripes to Sean Paul, his second full length album creates a unique, almost retro sound. He combines all the elements from jazz to hip-hop and puts them all together to give us my personal favorite album by him, "Version."
Recommendations:
"Stop Me" - This song's actually been a hit in the U.K. for some time, and just now recently traveled it's way over here to the states. With a jazz vibe to it, it's got a funky sound that's perfect for fans of artists like Amy Winehouse.
"Ooh Wee" - Talk about a great collaboration! Ronson collides with Ghostface Killah, Nate Dogg, Trife & Saigon to give this song a whole new spin. Jazz, hip-hop, rap, funk, they're all thrown into the mix for this track.
"Bout to Get Ugly" - It almost has a southern kind of vibe to it? I dunno, but anyway you phrase it the song is still quite the toetapper.
