Monty Are I

By: S6 Staff - Sebastian.

Originally Monty's Fan Club, Monty Are I was just a local band from Rhode Island. That all changed when they entered an Ernie Ball sponsored contest. They one first place out of 2800 bands. This lucky band was awarded with not only professional gear, but also a spot on the 2006 Van's Warped Tour. Out of the same 2800 bands, they were 1 out of 4 bands choosen to go to Hollywood, where they would play for record label executives with the hope to impress them and get signed. Finally, after years of hard work, they were signed and recorded their full-length debut, "Wall of People," with Stolen Transmission Records.

Now, Monty Are I have their album out and are about to go on their first headlining tour. They will be headlining with Dropping Daylight [special guests include The Summer Obsession, The Outline, and Permanent Me.] I personally like them because of their originality. They are a true rock band, not like most you see these days. I say they're original because their music sounds different then most other bands. Monty Are I isn't another one of those bands who play like all the other mainstream artists. Also, each of their songs is unique, they don't all sound the same. Mix that all together and you get a great artist, now known as Monty Are I.

Recommendations:
"Castle Bound" - Not much to say about this song other then that it's a catchy song that's fun to listen to.

"Island City" - This is their down-beat song. For those of you who don't really like heavy guitar parts, this is your song.

"In This Legacy" - This would have to be my favorite Monty Are I song. This song is very energetic, yet almost soothing at the same time.

"Tie Off Your Veins" - With the added sound of brass instuments, and intriguing melody, this is a great songto download/listen to.
