Motion City Soundtrack

Okay, so they're pretty old, so old in fact that in the realm of today's ever-changing music scene, Motion City is almost vintage, but that doesn't mean that their sound is old and outdated. In fact, I find it more refreshing than what most bands today are coming up with. Like most bands who haven't had the help of Fall Out Boy and Fueled By Ramen to propel their music to the top of the charts, Motion City has only recently been receiving the credit that they deserve. You've probably heard their songs in John Tucker Must Die (Better Open the Door) and Accepted (Everything is Alright). The band's currently working on their junior album "Even if it Kills Me" which is expected to be released in July of this year. It hasn't received as much hype as most albums that are coming or have come out this year, which just might be a good thing seeing as hype has already managed to ruin more than one album. If "Even if it Kills me" is anything like the albums before it, "Commit This to Memory" and "I Am The Movie," it just might turn into this year's summer anthem.

Recommendations:
"Everything Is Alright" - Okay I lied, Fall Out Boy has helped them out. Patrick Stump does some of the vocals on this song and so does Robb Maclean from Limbeck. Small talk aside, I adore this song to no end. True to Motion City Soundtrack style, the guitar riffs in this song are infectious; actually, this whole song is infectious.

"The Future Freaks Me Out" - The one song by Motion City Soundtrack that I find catchier than "Everything Is Alright." This song just makes me want to get up and dance, well actually, all their songs make me want to get up and dance, but you get my point. It's catchy and fun and the whole song just puts you in a good mood.

"Let's Get Fucked Up and Die" - I adore this song, despite the title, I think it's cute and just something that everyone can relate to. It's a lot more mellow than their other songs, but I wouldn't call it mellow at all (if that makes any sense).
