Rage was a band from the nineties that was based on Zach de la Rocha's rhymeing ability. He put politically drivin words based on dicontentment with our society. If you mix that with the heavy guitar and strong drums, you have a band that is fun to listen to and enriches your mind at the same time. Zach wasn't happy with our society, it's obvious right? Well, in the end, that broke the band apart in the year 2000. Although they broke up, they have been in two reunion concerts (Valley Music and Arts Festival and Rock the Bells IV) since. Rage seems to be able to pump people up when you listen to them. They have one of those sounds that just, BAM, hits me and says, "WAKE UP"!! My eyes have been opened to what our society is doing to me. They talk about being branded and how we are so seseptable to everything we see, and they speak against it in a really powerful way!!
Recommendations:
"Vietnow" - A song that I find very intriguing... Zach talks about how the radio is just crap now-a-days. It says "Turn up the radio, nah, f*** it, turn it off!". He says what's on it is so dumb, and so manipulating that he doesn't even want to listen to it. Shut down the devil's sound!
"Killing in the Name" - This song talks about how we do anything our leader says. Zach say "Now you're under control", saying that our president can make us do anything cause he has power. Saying that we think what he says is justified. That death of soldiers is "okay" cause its for a "good cause"...
"Bullet in Your Head" - We're all victims of an in-house drive by" is the line that really makes me think. We watch tv ALOT now-a-days and producers use it as a chance to seduce us into doing what they say. They say jump, you say how high. Zach is saying stay away from those idiots who think they can control you, because most likely, they can. We are so easily influenced, so we need to just walk away.
