Many people will probably know them now, but they've actually been in the industry since 1998, when Relient K was first formed. The gospel/christian band is sometimes known as an alternative band. They've released many albums since then, like their self-titled Relient K, Two Lefts Don't Make a Right.. but Three Do, Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek and the popular Mmhmm, the third Gold Album in a row which was released in 2004. Their newest album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago, was released early March of this year, claiming to be the best album yet. Along with their albums, they've also released a bunch of EPs, along with a Christmas titled Deck the Halls, and Bruise Your Hands.
My friends often find it odd that I listen to Relient K, since they're considered a Christian band and I'm not exactly Christian. However, I really love Relient K. If you ever visit my myspace, you'll see me mentioning Relient K at every chance I get. I fell in love with them because their songs are a bit of everything, some are sad, emotional while others are funny, hilarious.
Recommendations:
Must Have Done Something Right . According to Matt Thiessen (the lead singer), "I always write about what I'm going through and I can't avoid the fact that I'm just really happy and there are some good things going on." This song are one of the happier songs off their album.
Faking My Own Suicide . My best friend told me he loves this song. It's about how a girl won't notice him and faking their own suicide will get her to realize the man by her side, all along.
This Week the Trend . This song isn't off of their new album, it was from Mmhmm, but it's the song that lead me to fall in love with this awesome band.
