2001, American Pie 2 was released, and also the first year I would be united with Sum 41. “Fat Lip” and “In Too Deep”,
even though they wasn’t on the soundtrack, would officially keep me hooked on this band. “All Killer No Filler” would
put Sum 41 on the map and they would later co-headline a tour with Blink-182. In 2002, they would release, “Does This
Look Infected?”, in 2004, “Chuck”, and now, “Underclass Hero”. Just two weeks ago I picked up “Underclass Hero”, the
groups’ latest album. and proceeded to listen to it 9127643901 times. I really like the way the band has grown
over the years; from a pop-rock radio hit to something that most people can relate to.
Recommendations:
“Motivation” – Off the album, "All Killer No Filler," "Motivations" is such a fun song to listen to when you
realize that it just sucks to be you.
“No Reason” – Chuck : A political commentary on the treatment of people overseas. This song is strong and has
a great meaning which so many bands have tried to speak of.
“Best of Me” - This is one from their latest album, “Underclass Hero”, and is definately my favorite off of
the entire CD.
