The Dream

For Fans of: Mario, Jay-Z, J.Holiday, and Rihanna. Anyone with ears has heard J. Holiday’s, “Bed”, and even more of you have heard the monster single of 2007; Rihanna’s, “Umbrella” feat. Jay-Z. Both songs written by Terius Nash, aka The Dream. After the success of both songs Terius decided to enter the studio and begin his solo album. Recorded in a total of nine days, “Lovehate”, does not lack in anyway and brings a fresh earthy feel to the R&B/Soul genre. His first single off the album, “Shawty is a 10” has received a steady following peaking so far at number six on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number seventeen on the Billboard Hot 100. Born in January of 1997, Tarius Nash grew up in Atlanta , home of many rappers, soul, and r&b legends, which influenced him as a child. His music and voice is very addictive and I want people to become exposed to the mega-songwriting mogul’s talent also as a recording artist. His second single “Falsetto” was just released, as of mid-November. “Falsetto” showcases Tarius “The Dream” Nash’s ability to reach remarkable high notes at not feat to him. This is one of my favorite R&B/Soul albums of the year and is something everyone who is a fan of the genre should definitely check out.
Recommendations:
“Luv Songs”: This synth-driven beat is one that lulls you into a trace making you want to keep the rack on repeat the entire time.
“Nikki”: Another great track off of the album, with great back up vocals and repetitive ay’s and uhn’s.
“I Luv Your Girl”: “Radio Killer” the song starts off. This is my favorite song on the album and definitely holds the, already strong album, together.
Also Listen To: “Falsetto”, “Shawty is a 10 (Remix feat. R. Kelly)”, and “Playin’ With Her Hair”.
