The Format is easily my all time favorite band and I've never met a single person who disliked this band. Sure, they had a rough start, getting dropped by their record label twice, but the band's made a giant comeback with two albums, two EP's and 5 live recordings all done by their new record label, The Vanity Label. The band's recent album Dog Problems, which was released in July of 2006 was considered to be one of the best albums of 2006 by artist such as Bryce Avary from The Rocket Summer and Chad Sugg from Backseat Goodbye, and it also made it onto the The Militia Group (an indie label who currently signs popular bands such as Cartel and Copeland)'s list of Top 10 albums of 2006. Bottom line, listen to them, you won't regret it and when tickets go on sale for their new spring tour this year, go see them. They're absolutely amazing live! (In case you didn't see them in fall of 2006 with The All American Rejects and Gym Class Heroes). Oh and one last thing, this band is up for artist of the year (2006) with SPIN magazine.

Recommendations:
"The First Single (Cause A Scene)" - This song, like most of the other Format songs, just makes you want to dance. It's incredibly upbeat and lead singer Nate Reuss's voice is absolutely amazing. There's just something about this band that makes you want to dance around in your room all night long, and yes, I actually do sometimes.

"Janet" - This song is incredibly cute, whether you're in a relationship or not. The lyrics are adorable, as always, Nate's voice is adorable. The tempo is catchy and I guarantee you, that before the song has even ended, you've pressed the back button on your ipod to play it again.

"Oceans" - They were playing this song in Hollister the other day, and I couldn't help myself, I stopped, dead in my tracks, and started humming and smiling like crazy. If you were there and I startled you, I apologize. The only thing that kept me from straight out belting this song at the top of my lungs is the fact that I didn't want to get arrested and banned from the store. But this is a song that deserves to be sung at the top of your lungs. Perfect shower song.
