The Pink Spiders
[official website] - [official myspace]
By: S6 Creator - lz.
The Pink Spiders are definitely pop/rock at it's best. This pop/rock trio really have a knack for creating catchy hooks and fun songs. They just exude rockable music and energy. They released their first EP, "The Pink Spiders are Taking Over" in 2004 and later released a full-length album, "Hot Pink" in 2005. They re-released this album in 2006 after signing with major label, Geffen. They stayed under the radar for the longest time until MTV picked up their single "Little Razorblade" and played it continuously on their network. Soon, even TRL was getting it's share of The Pink Spiders. Though the group is still waiting for that single that will rocket them to stardom, their fans are still pretty content with this fun and energetic band.
Recommendations:
"Modern Swinger" - This is actually the song that introduced me to The Pink Spiders. The chorus is probably one of the catchiest things I've ever heard, and you'll understand why after you take a listen. I think the play count for this song was about 150 on my iPod. I'm telling you,
addictive.
"Hollywood Fix" - This song is a little more...."funky" (only way I can think to describe it) than their other songs. It's a pretty fun song and vocal pitches make it every bit as fun to sing along with. It's all about that need for Hollywood. Not that I'd know, but the song is pretty cool nonetheless.
"Little Razorblade" - The music video for this song is pretty cool. Laundromats, rollerskating, and pink. Lots of pink. What more could you ask for really? This song is one of their most energetic ones and definitely one you should download.
