There were a lot of fabulous girl bands in the late 50's and early 60's that were forgotten, but The Pipettes are determined to make sure that won't happen to them. Themed with polka-dot dresses, doowop anthems, and choreographed hand movements, The Pipettes, armed with their backing band, The Cassette, are giving girl power a whole new meaning. Made up of the first-name-only Becki (aka RiotBecki), Gwenno, and Rose (aka Rosay), The Pipettes have created a fan base in the UK and Europe, with their album set to drop in the US in August. All of the girls sing, with Rosay and Gwenno sometimes playing keyboards. The vintage feel and sound of their fabulous music really draws you in, along with the fact that they exude confidence in tracks such as "We Are The Pipettes." One thing is for sure: these girls will not be forgotten soon.
Recommendations:
"Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me" -The first song I bought from them, this fun boppy anthem will have you singing along in no time.
"Pull Shapes" - I love the lyrics in this because they sound so cute and it's a fun song to listen to.
"Because It's Not Love" - A fabulous and flirty number about being happily in like.
"ABC," "Judy," and "Tell Me What You Want."
