The Rocket Summer is the brain child of one man, Bryce Avary, who just so happens to be a music genius. Bryce has been obsessed with music since the age of 14 and I don't mean he liked to listen to music; at 14, Bryce was writing and recording his songs and playing them at different venues around his home state of Texas. Now at age 22, Bryce has released two EPs, "The Rocket Summer EP" and "The Early Days EP" as well as two CDS "Hello Good Friend" and "Calendar Days." He's also built up a whole army of loyal fans who go to shows in brat pack t-shirts, hang rope lights all around their rooms, and are in awe of his gravity defying hair. Bryce has a new CD coming out this summer which you should definitely check out, and if you haven't heard of Bryce yet, definitely start with the songs below. You'll get hooked; I promise.
Recommendations:
"Cross My Heart" - This song is so cute, especially once you think about Bryce's wife Tara who was also his high school sweet heart. They're a couple that just makes your heart melt and Bryce's lyrics just act like a catalyst; by the time you're done listening to his CD "Calendar Days" your heart'll end up as a puddle.
"Brat Pack" - When this song first came out, it became like an anthem for my friends and I, actually it still is. Listen to it, you'll love it. Typical Bryce, this song is absolutely amazing. Sure, it might have gotten a little old but that doesn't keep it from being exceptional.
"Show Me Everything You Got" - This song makes you want to dance around your house like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever; dead serious. It's bubbly and fun and definitely one of my favorite Rocket Summer songs of all time. Just don't hurt yourself dancing to it.
