Before there was Danger: Radio, there was The Scene Aesthetic. The acoustic, indie, pop duo, made up of Andrew de Torres (from Danger: Radio) and Eric Bowley from Everett, Washington have been together since 2005. In 2006, they released their first album "Building Homes From What We've Known" and began their first, and so far only, tour. The duo is currently signed to dW Records and just released their newest album, the self-titled "The Scene Aesthetic," along with a dvd, in early July. The Scene Aesthetic is back on tour this summer promoting their new album, however, a guest vocalist is currently replacing Eric who is still in Argentina on a service mission.
Recommendations:
"Call It A Lullaby" - The guys of The Scene Aesthetic love to do rebounding vocals, making it sounds as if they're singing to each other rather than that one mysterious girl. The song sounds and flows like a conversation making it lyrically and vocally unique.
"Yes, Even Stars Break" - Sweet and mellow, just like every other TSA song. What makes it even better is that they decided against pulling a Fall Out Boy or a Panic! At The Disco and didn't give their song a ridiculously long title; even though it still has nothing to do with the song.
"Beauty In The Breakdown" - Easily the catchiest TSA song, "Beauty In The Breakdown" is responsible for the bands early success. After debuting on the bands myspace in 2005, the band was pushed to record the song, as well as their first album.
