Vanessa Hudgens

[official website] - [official myspace]

By: Kathleen.

Young, charismatic, beautiful, and talented Vanessa Hudgens, well known for her starring role as Gabriella Montez in the mega hit High School Musical (2006) is also known for her role in the movie Thunderbirds (2004) and Thirteen(2003). Vanessa has also guest starred in popular tv shows such as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (Disney Channel), playing the role as Corrie for several episodes, and a brief part in an episode of Drake and Josh (Nickelodeon). She recently released a cd title "V" during the month of September. Although her solo album is quite impressive. I personally believe Vanessa's voice (along with the rest of the High School Musical Cast) is heard beautifully through the High School Musical soundtrack. Seeing, the High School Musical Soundtrack broke records on the Billboard Top 100 for being the first original TV movie soundtrack ever to reach No. 1 since 1986 (Miami Vice album). No lie, I was expecting better from Vanessa's album but her magnificent voice drowns out the fact that the lyrics are not the best out there. Personally, my favorite songs sung by her in general would be either Breaking Free or When There Was Me and You (from the High School Musical soundtrack), which proves those who are small can still have loud (and amazing :))voices.

Recommendations:
"Let's Dance" - It is one of her more upbeat songs on her cd. It has a infecitous beat to it, practicallly forcing you to either snap, tap your toe, or sway back and forth.

"Never Underestimate A Girl" - Once again this is another one of her few upbeat songs on her cd. This song has a catchy beat to it causing you to bob your head and to somehow memorize the lyrics by heart.

"Say Ok" - Her current popular song. The first few lyrics are contagious. I've heard the song so many times I know a good half of the lyrics. The song has a bit of a deeper meaning compared to her others. This is one of her slower songs. Usually I do not favor slow songs, yet this song reeled me in.
