Coachella Music Festival 2007

By:
Lindsey H.
Artist: Mika, Klaxons, The Feeling, Lily Allen, Rage against the Machine
Concert Name/Year: Coachella Music Festival 2007
Pros:
Mika seems like the energizer bunny, never did his energy seem to cease. His performance consisted of the staple, “Grace Kelly” along with his other numerous upbeat tunes. Backstage everyone seemed to have there own “groove going” as my sister put it. Overall there was a happy go lucky attitude that started the day out more than perfectly. Even though this music is more of an “acquired taste” the Klaxons proved themselves to be brilliant! The crowd was completely into it. The stage being smaller others was an incredible venue for them. The band members though a little more radical than other artists had just as high or higher level of energy! The crowd and the band fed off of each others energy! The Feeling though more mellow than others proved them selves to be great! Playing a great cover of “Video Killed the Radio Star” really got the audience going! Lily Allen’s voice is just as fantastic as ever! To end the night Rage Against the Machine was high energy and one dangerous crowd to be in! Coachella provided an awe-inspiring line-up!
Cons:
The heat was a main con, even though it wasn’t as hot as usual it was still a factor. Also for Lily Allen’s show a large enough stage to support her fan base was not provided, which created a problem for many happy concert goers. Its not really a con per say, but looking out for your best friend in large mosh pit loving crowd is not the easiest thing to do. So for her, a con would be the violent nature of the Rage crowd.
Experiences:
Since I have the coolest most awesome Dad ever he got two backstage passes that me and my sister so cleverly traded back and forth to accommodate out musicians meeting needs. Because of this I met Mika and took a picture with him! Same goes for Lily Allen! I would have asked others for a picture my exceedingly shy nature prevented it! =P
Rating:
Million Billion Zillion! Best day of my life!
Final Thoughts:
Woo! Everyone should go to Coachella!
