Text Effect 4

The "pixelated" look is always fun to play with. One of my favorite techniques includes using the "fragment" filer. First off, you'll need to select your text tool and write something:

You'll need to duplicate your text now. Since the "fragment" tool really pixelates your text, you'll need two versions of the same text (one being un-pixelated on top of the pixelated one) so that it's still legible. You can do this by right-clicking your text in the layers window and selecting "Dulpicate Layer" from that drop-down menu:

Now that you've done that, select your original text (the bottom text layer in your layers window) and go to your top menu bar. Select in this order:

Filter > Pixelate > Fragment

A pop-up window will ask you to "rasterize" your text. Just click "ok":

This will automatically "fragment" your text. It's be a little too dark though, so I suggest lowering down the opacity to about 70%:

Now take a look at your finished text:

Done! I love the computerized feel of this one.
